Admissions Policy

At Happy Children Nursery our intention is to make our setting accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community and beyond.

We aim to ensure that all have access to the nursery through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.

In order to achieve this we operate the following admissions procedure;

  • The existence of our setting will be widely advertised in all sections of the community.
  • Information about our setting will be easily accessible in written and spoken form.
  • Arranging our waiting list in order of the date of registration.

In addition, our policy may take into account the following:

  • Availability of days requested
  • Siblings already attending the setting.

Our setting and its practices treats with equality each child and their family with regards to gender, special educational requirements, disabilities, social background, religion, ethnicity or families in which English is a newly acquired additional language.

Where possible, we will try our upmost to be flexible about attendance patterns to accommodate the needs of individual children and families, providing these do not disrupt the pattern of stability and continuity in the setting.

Happy Children Nursery is open for 38 weeks.  Fees are applicable on these days.

We take on children from the age of twelve months to five years. Children aged 3-5 years are entitled to Nursery Education Funding (NEF) which entitles each child to 15 free hours of childcare a week (Some children have a 30 hour entitlement – please see management for more details), in addition to this some children are entitled to 15 hours of two year old funding.
