We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our warm, child‑centred nursery. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident early years professional who is passionate about high‑quality childcare, strong team leadership, and creating an inspiring environment where children feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
✨ About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the smooth and compliant running of the setting. You will lead staff across rooms, model outstanding practice, and help maintain a positive, nurturing atmosphere for children, families, and the team.
You will play a key role in staff development, safeguarding, curriculum delivery, and ensuring the nursery environment reflects our values of care, respect, and purposeful learning.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily running of the nursery in line with EYFS and all statutory requirements.
- Leading and mentoring staff to ensure high‑quality practice across all rooms.
- Assisting with planning, observations, and curriculum implementation.
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed consistently and confidently.
- Conducting staff supervisions, identifying training needs, and supporting professional growth.
- Building strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Maintaining accurate developmental records and documentation.
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and well‑organised learning environment.
- Supporting recruitment, inductions, and team culture.
- Carrying out additional duties as required by the Nursery Manager.
💡 About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Level 3 qualified or above in Early Years.
- Experienced in leading or supervising staff.
- Confident with EYFS, planning, and key person responsibilities.
- Warm, professional, and able to communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Organised, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent childcare.
- Passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive environment for all children.
